Divas (our plus size ladies), are you ready for summer?
Here are a few tips to spring into action and feel great all summer long!
1. Color your wardrobe happy with bright & bold colors! Prints are in, so are bold bright colors like yellow, blue, pink and coral!
2. Incorporate a Few New Key Trend Items. Update your closet with a romper, jumpsuit, wide leg pant or shirtdress. Try and look for items that will last longer than one season or will transition well.
3. Eye for Detail. Looking for a little spark or more 'tude to your look? The details and finishing touches will add more interest to your ensemble; this could be belts, jewels or buttons. Top it off with a new clutch, shoe or glasses.
4. Organize - Clean out your closet! I have a hard rule, for every new piece I bring in, I have to get rid of two. (yes two!) Bring a girlfriend in to help with some tough love. Out with the old, in with the new.
5. Update Signature Pieces. Give your favorite blazer an update or replace it with a new one. Take items to a tailor or seamstress, or make necessary repairs or upgrades yourself. Keep your wardrobe as xciting as you are!
6. Create A Pinterest Board. Pin, repost and follow designs you like. These can be inspirational for your look. You don't need to copy the look from head-to-toe, but use style you can incorporate into your personal style; daring blouses or killer heels.
7. Find new versatile pieces to incorporate. Be it a new LBD (little black dress), or wide-legged pants, or maybe a pencil thin skirt. Show off your legs with a shirtdress.
8. Accessorize to maximize. Curate your look/style with accessories. Find what works for you; jazz up your regular ensembles or with a casual look.
9. Update your Foundation (we don't mean make-up here). Maybe its time to replace those undergarments (bras and panties and such) with new, not only for sex appeal but for a better fit and feel. If you don't have any shapers in your closet maybe its time you added one or two to accent your silhouette.
10. Forget the Size, Pay Attention to the Fit. Confidence & Comfort. Try on looks you've always wanted or liked and see how they feel. Also, don't worry about sizing so much now, since many manufacturers have vanity sizing. What's important is your confidence and comfort. What you feel good in will show in your overall appearance and confidence.
11. Know your Fit. Retailers carry different brands and no two manufacturers are alike, at least when it comes to sizing. Knowing which brands are more junior cut, missy cut or true to size, this is critical. Know your retailers so you can navigate your way with ease, this comes in handy when you're in a hurry and need a new look for tonight.
12. Know your measurements. when's the last time you had your measurements professionally taken? If its been a few years, or even if you've gained or lost weight. This is also beneficial to know if you shop online.
13. Have fun! fun with shopping don't be lazy about it. Play around with new makeup looks, colors, products and hairstyles. Go out with a friend, to get honest opinions and create new looks.
Own it!

Be U-Nique
Love the skin you're in. Flaunt those curves.
Don't be a copy. Develop your own personal style.
What's your style? Chic? Casual? Fashionista? Daring or Edgy?
What's your Mood? Your style can reflect your mood. You may not be in the mood for hip and daring today. Maybe you need casual and comfort. But it can still reflect your own style. Maybe you like scarves, or bling, or specific styles of bangles or even eyelashes. Be who you want to be.
What style(s) do you like? Do you find flattering or alluring? Maybe you like purses, or fun and daring shoes.
When you're trying on something new, especially a new outfit, it's helpful to bring a friend along to get their opinion and take a photo (front & back) so you can see how others will see you (read: your ensemble). How you carry yourself is up to you, but you make the outfit.
Winter layering: when it's cold outside, we often want to dress in big, soft, comfy sweaters. This can be successfully achieved with an eye on fashion when you compliment it with opaque tights (and/or leg warmers) underneath without appearing big or bulky. Add dimension with patterns or print.
Or, you can wear a fleece lined coat with a lightweight dress underneath for business or casual get togethers.
Use bright colors or prints to take the winter blues away. Lightweight cashmere sweaters are the perfect staple for everyone's wardrobe. Don't forget the cardigan, to help ward off the chill, inside or out.

Welcome to Xcite's Diva - for the Curvy Woman
Happy New Year 2015, and Welcome to our blog for the Diva Fashionista! This blog is for curvy women (that's right) woman who are plus or queen size.
We are so xcited you found us. Our mission is to help the Diva Fashionista (and sometimes her significant other) when it comes to fashion, accessories, sizing and so much more.
We welcome your comments and suggestions about our posts and for future posts.
At our brick and mortar location, (Xcite Lingerie & Clubwear and so much more), in Chattanooga, TN., we strive to bring in quality merchandise for our customers. For the past decade or so manufacturers have been doing something called "Vanity Sizing". Which as you may already know, is not true sizing. When we attend shows and marketplace we get to meet one-on-one with manufacturers and talk to them about true sizing for our Divas, with underwire support and adjustable straps. We only bring in quality pieces and often times, one-of-a-kind dresses for our customers.
Please follow our blogs, follow us on facebook and twitter for upcoming specials and events. (Xcitelingerie)
or, just stop in the store, we're open Tues. - Sat. 10-7 (EST)
